DOT Bans Samsung Galaxy Note7 Phones From Airplanes


The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) along with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced effective Saturday, October 15, 2016 a ban on all Samsung Galaxy Note7 smartphones on all flights in the United States.  Travelers were previously allowed to power-down the phone and carry with them onto the aircraft – this will no longer be allowed.  Additionally, the device by not be in carry-on, checked baggage, or shipped as air cargo.
