ACTION REQUIRED: New Process For Delta Air Lines Comfort+ Complimentary Upgrades

Effective immediately, SkyMiles Medallion members need to re-set their default upgrade preferences in their Profile on Delta.com.  By default, members will automatically be opted-in for First Class upgrades and opted-out for Delta Comfort+ upgrades.  To update these settings, follow these steps:

Login to Delta.com with your SkyMiles number or Username and Password

1. Click on “My Profile”
2. In the Flight Preferences box, click on “Open” button
3. In the Medallion Complimentary Upgrade Requests box, click on “Edit” button
4. Check the box for “Request upgrade for Delta Comfort+ (if this is your preference)
5. Click on the “Save Changes” button

If you don’t want to change your default opt-in settings, you can still request an upgrade on a trip-by-trip basis through “My Trips” on Delta.com or during the check-in process.

What to know once Opted-in:

• If an upgraded seat becomes available, the traveler will be notified via email (and also in “My Trips”) of the upgrade.  Note: It can take up to an hour for Diamond and Platinum Medallion Members to receive Comfort+ seat assignments after ticketing.
• Travelers who have selected upgrade eligibility for both First Class and Delta Comfort+ will be upgraded to the most premium option available.  If the upgraded is to Delta Comfort+, they will still be on standby for First Class upgrades.
• If no upgrades are available, the Medallion member will be placed on standby for an upgrade.  You may view your spot on the standby list in “My Trips” or in the Fly Delta App.
• All seats in Delta Comfort+ are part of the premium experience – aisle, middle or window seats will be assigned based on availability
• Following an upgrade, the traveler can select another available seat in the same class of service if available.  However, once upgraded to Delta Comfort+ you will not be able to revert back to their Main Cabin seat.
